How do I get rid of compressed areas in my carpeting?

I removed a secretary desk and there are 4 areas where the carpeting is depressed from the legs on the secretary. There is also some staining from the furniture. Any suggestions?

Place an ice cub on the indented place and let it melt. Once the ice cube has melted, the indentation should vanish.
Hi, have had good results with this method.Place a piece of kitchen roll over the mark and add several ice cubes.Allow to melt and then let it dry naturally.Repeat if dents are really deep Tina
Place a damp towel on it overnight then fluff up in morning.
Lay ice cube on the area and let them melt. The nap will spring right up
