How do I remove carpet in front of door and replace with tile?

I need to cut the carpet in front of my door and put tile in there.

Removing the carpet will be the easy part, although not the cleanest! Be sure to wear a mask and use a utility knife to cut sections of the carpet as you go. Use pliers to remove any staples.
