How to get rid of a very textured walls and ceiling?

I am going to take the texture on the walls out. The question is - what is easier to do and what is cheaper. I could put a thin sheet rock over and cover the texture, or I can scrub it down and refinish. Please advise.

Easier and faster, but maybe more expensive to do your way. But I can attest because I chose to do this too. The method of sanding is very messy, quite a pain ( you know where) but the least expensive way. Good luck!!Helpful Reply -

This site lists a fairly simple tools list and step by step illustrated instructions. I hope you find the information helpful!
