Need help with choosing flooring in kitchen & family room please?
Looking into replacing kitchen/family room floor. Just replaced counters w quartz & new backsplash, new appliances (slate color), extended island w electric & quartz top. Black hardware planned on all wood light oak cabinets.Any suggestions? There is a laminate wood looking floor there now. About20 years old. With stained woodwork. I feel
i need to use some lighter flooring. Rooms get morning sun only. I don’t want a ceramic tile floor as it’s too firm to stand on.
Thank you for suggestions, Disne B.

We have used vinyl plank flooring in both a large bathroom and a large kitchen. The bathroom floor has been down for about seven years and the kitchen one year.
Vinyl plank flooring is beautiful, warm, durable and easy care. I highly recommend it. I also recommend paying the extra to have it professionally installed unless you’re really good at DIY.
Good luck!
I think something like this:

would be beautiful!
There are so many options for flooring in any big box home improvement store! Laminates, luxury vinyl planks, engineered hardwood and all come in numerous colors. If you are a good DIYer you can install most of these yourself. Go take a long look at all the choices available and then narrow it down to samples that you think will work well in your space!
