Should skirting boards be removed before laying vinyl laminate boards?

If you remove the baseboard, you risk damaging the walls. Installing the laminate with quarter round will be much easier and won't damage the existing walls.Helpful Reply -

We installed laminate wood floors, and we took up the baseboard because it is a floating floor and is held back from the wall for expansion. Take your time removing the baseboard to avoid damage to them and the walls. Then make sure when you lay the floor that the baseboard will cover the expansion gap. The baseboard will sit higher on the wall as it sits on top of the new flooring. I know it sounds like more work, which it is, but the extra effort will produce a better finished result. We followed the manufactures installation instructions and love our floors!Helpful Reply -
