We are getting ready to redo our downstairs kitchen and living area. We gave opened up the wall between the two and because we like cherry wood so much we purchased it for our new hardwoods as well as our kitchen cabinets. Unfortunately, the colors don't match. Help! What flooring do I put in the kitchen to transition the two rooms that looks good with the cabinets and the living room cherry hardwoods?

I had that problem last year.I took a cabinet door to the flooring store and was able to blend two rooms.Test a piece of flooring in every type of light.

Bamboo, which is a golden brown. it blends with the hardwood to create a harmony of colors. Anything with too much contrast will/could jar the vision of the room. It it were me, having cherry as my base wood, I'd aim for warm colors that ease easily into one another.

I have cherry cabinets and when they did my floor they made a special mix and was able to make something to match the cabinets. My floor is a medium tan/brown color with a hint of red to make it look warm.
