Wood floor next to travertine or porcelain like wood

We are thinking of removing carpet in LR, DR, MBR, fam. Room and hallways. travertine and granite in kitchen and all baths. Would it look odd to put a porcelain tile that looks like wood vs a real wood floor. I was told that wood floor requires a lot of work compare to a tile that you mop. Forgot the name of the tile that you don't have to grout. Thanks

Laminate or vinyl planking is what the name is.No it will not look out of place. there are so many options, color and style today.

  • I think the wood-look tile would look great and I think the no-grout tile is called Cliks.

Voice of experience! Tile floors can be a lot of work to keep clean after a while because of the grout so your best bet is to go with the flooring, whatever kind you like. The new vinyl planks are easy to look after. Damp mopping is all that is required on any wood or vinyl floor. If you have a dog it could scratch the hardwood so the vinyl may be best.

Hi, there is a porcelain wood look tile, that doesn't need grout at all and I would go with either walnut or dark cherry color. My son put the vinyl wood look in his rental condo. I know it is easy care, but our house is quite expensive and I don't think that is what I should install. I don't have any pets anymore. Thanks for the info. Will check on the vinyl anyway.

If you like having tile, those that look like wood are amazing! If you are in a coastal location where there is a lot of sand, it would probably be your best choice!

Hi Jeannette, I am in AZ. Tiles are very popular here, as wood floor, just that I wasn't sure putting a porcelain tile next to a travertine floor would be alright. Thanks
