Yes that is okay. If you want a “wildflower garden” the seeds can be added to clay balls and dropped in the area and released as rain washes away the clay. I purchased a biodegradeable mat of mixed seeds. Lay mat in bed and water allowing seeds to germinate in mat and grow. When I sprinkled a mix of seeds in a bare area none grew.
