check water moisture level daily. Keep evenly moist. Look up care of petunias on the net. They may need a snack of fertilizer at some point.
Make sure you dead head the flowers, it will stimulate the plant to produce more. Along with proper watering and fertilizer, it should keep blooming.
If you have the mesh woven hanging basket, line the bottom of the basket (below where you put the dirt and above the bottom of the basket) with a new disposable baby diaper. The absorbant side facing up. Load in the dirt and flowers, The diaper will now hold water and keep the plants fresh in hot weather
Try pulling off any dead blooms. When you do this, it urges the plant to regrow there!
Hi Georgia. They need to be dead headed which is pinching off the old blooms.Towards the end of the season I also cut the bottom parts off to promote new growth. Make sure they don't dry out and that they get watered everyday. Once a week I fertilize them.
Proper water for nutrition, which means dry dirt in the first 2-3” is fine, but not below that; drainage so the pots don’t get root-bound or root rot; a decent breeze to keep insects down, and fertilized soil at the beginning and once a month for all spring and summer. Try a couple of pots hanging in new places, to help guide you if something might be wrong. Best wishes. I love petunias. ☺️
petunias are very finicky, regular pinching back and water soluble fertilizer every two weeks will help as well. They do not like to be saturated, just moist.on extreme days try avoiding direct hot sun.
