Chrysanthemums bloom in the fall but you will need to trim the buds off around the first of July to have better fuller blooms in the fall.

Mums, Russian sage, Pansies, Caryopteris, Blue Star Amsonia, Goldenrod, Asters, Helenium & Sedum. Most of those are perennials except the pansies which are an annual.
There are many varieties of asters that bloom wonderfully in the fall as well as chrysanthemums. Also, if you plant sunflower seeds part way through the summer, they will also bloom well. Added bonus, the birds will thank you! Be sure to check how long from germination to flowering and then count backwards from when you usually get the first frost and plant accordingly. Good luck!
