It might need iron
Mine are growing wonderfully, but the bottom leaves are yellowing too! I thought it might be overwatering?
It s a weather thing....tomato doesn't really like blazing hot, the other reason may be to much water.
lack of light, too much water both could do it.
need more nitrogen. try miracle grow. also crush egg shells and scatter around plant.
I think that they are not getting enough water. The lower leafs are the closest to the root system. They will be the first to yellow and die off. The same thing will happen upwards from "thirst". Hope this helps you.
Thanks much but it's just weird. They're "Siletz" plants in 5 gal tubs on a full sun porch under clear cover and get a gallon of water/day each. The plant are over 3 ft tall and loaded with green tomatoes but 3 to 4 large leaf groups on the bottom of each stalk turned bright yellow so I pulled them off yesterday.
