    It's a citronella plant. One of the geranium's. It's a lemony scent that repels mosquitoes. Rub it on your arms, face and neck before you go outside during bug season.

    I just want to clarify here. This plant is a citrus-scented geranium, Pelargonium graveolens Citrosa. It is not a citronella grass plant, Cymbopogon nardus, which is the source of citronella oil used as an insect repellent.

    This scented geranium does also help repel mosquitoes. Scented geraniums also come in other flavors like chocolate that can be dried and used for pot pouri.

    Yes I agree that this is a scented geranium. They come in many scents. I have one that is rose and I've had pineapple and lemon.

    You can use it as a spice .Here we use it to flavor the wild cherry jam and the rice pudding.

    It's called a Citronella Plant. If you bruise the leaves... it smells like citronella oil.

      I had 2 of the lemon scented plants. I didn't get any flowers on them but they were nice to look at with just the large leaves. I was also told it will help keep mosquitoes away. I don't know if that is true as we didn't get very many of the little buggers last summer. My 2 plants didn't winter at all so I have to start with new plants this spring.

    I know it as a rose geranium, the flowers can be lavender or pink (in my yard). They will grow like crazy with little care.

    Citronella, also known as a scented geranium. I love them, they help keep mostquitos away and the one I planted last year is now 4 feet tall and has "geranium like clusters" of purple and white flowers :)
