Hi...I live in Atlanta GA area and never saw crepe myrtles anywhere but in the deep south...we moved from NY years ago and they just did not exist in the northern climates....we currently have two in our front yard and with all the heat and humidity they are about 20 feet tall....we have them every where here even in the common areas of our community...they just cannot take the northern winters...Helpful Reply -

Hello Sandyp_43, Crape Myrtles are beautiful, aren't they? I really don't think they would do well where you live. They are very common in the south. They have even come up with a "cold" crape myrtle, but that is intended for the northern part of the south. Sorry but my vote is no. Best wishes.Helpful Reply -

Crape myrtles are pretty hardy. I have some in shady areas and sunny spots in South Jersey. All are doing well.Just make sure there is good drainage.Helpful Reply -
