Can I plant lavender in barrel size planters and will the survive ?
Holly Kinchlea-Brown on May 15, 2018If it is a large barrel you may be successful, I would try it. My mother put a climbing rose in a large planter (in Ontario) and it thrived year over year....lavender is much hardier than the rosesHelpful Reply

Dianacirce70 on May 15, 2018Yes, you can. As long as it has room for roots it doesn't need a ton of space.Helpful Reply
AJ on May 16, 2018The roots growing down deep will be fine. The problem is the barrel...side to side...the roots can freeze. Maybe try wrapping the barrel in some sort of insulation That can be removed in spring. Good luck.Helpful Reply
