Why does my Clamatis only have a few blooms this year?

I have a beautiful large Clametis, growing in and with a Old Climbing Rose..

Bloomed beautifully for 2 years. Now this year only has a few blooms.

I cut it and the rose back, and have fed it Rose food. Did this hurt or hinder the Clematis?? What can I do? .. It gets Morning sun, and lots of leaves, etc., just not many blooms..

Do I need to cut back farther this year.. Help..

Roses need full sun,clematis need full sun and shaded roots.
