Why do my Gardenia Bushes keep drying up and dying?

Recently have lost two gardenia bushes and believe they were properly grafted. They turn yellow and each leaf eventually falls off, until they dry up and die.

It might be time to transplant it and make sure that its new location has really steller drainage- good luck!!!

Check the ph level in your soil. They like a high acid content.

Are they getting enough water? are they well-mulched? That can keep the soil from drying out as fast. Also, are they within the drip line of large trees? Trees can hog the water because of their vast root systems, starving off smaller plants, so you have to water them more.
