How often and how much should I be watering my new citrus trees?

I recently planted a lemon tree and a navel orange tree. Its right before the harsh summer heat and I want to get this right!

Well-established, or mature, citrus trees can go for two weeks without a wateringsession, depending on your climate. Citrus trees prefer deep watering sessions compared to shallow and frequent watering. Each time you water a mature tree, the soil should be moist down 36 inches.

A newly planted tree should be watered at least 3 times a week.
