Good luck!
It should be fine in your garage and yes toss a little water on it occasionally just do not let it freeze. I have some in ground and we get bouts of freezing temps down into the teens occasionally and it always rebounds on its own. My girlfriend in NC winters hers over in her garage too and it does well. Certainly worth a try if you have room! See if this link helps any.

Temperatures should not go below 50 degrees>
Winter in Iowa can get harsh, but if it stays that warm in your garage it should be fine. I put my tomato pot in the garage last winter to get it off the driveway to make the snow plowing easier and had ground cherries trying to sprout this spring when I took it out to warm up before I planted in it again.
I love iceplants. Have given them to so many friends. You don't have to do anything to them, they come up every year in the spring. To propagate them, just break off a piece and stick it in the ground and you have another plant started.
Thanks for all the advice everyone!! I'm excited to give it a whirl!
i keep plants in by garage in thecwinter, I water them every 3-4 weeks, no plant food.
