My butterfly bush is turning brown! Help!

i sprayed the leaves with dawn and water because something was eating the leaves. is there any plant food i should use to help this?

Sounds like you may have used too much soap.Butterfly bushes need more water than you'd think, but can take a lot of abuse. I'd spray the plant well with water in the early morning and soak the ground. When it rebounds, cut out the dead branches. Even if you think it may be dead, it can come back to life. Mine did.I wouldn't use any fertilizer yet.Helpful Reply -

Never feed a plant that is in trouble.Try using a systemic treatment for insects and see if that gets the situation under control.Helpful Reply -
