I was sent these seeds as papaya seeds but I'm pretty sure they are not. They did not come from a reliable source as I find out. Can anyone help me with this please. Just curious thanks

    Pine?

  • Tammy Buske Tammy Buske on Mar 03, 2017

I know it's hard to tell in pic but they are a little on the thick side unlike a pine which is more flat. Atleast here they are.

SIMPLE, PLANT ONE. SEE WHAT COMES UP. GOOD, THEN YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE AND STILL HAVE MORE SEEDS

  • Lorisa Shook-Smith Lorisa Shook-Smith on Mar 04, 2017

I harvest Morning Glory seeds and that is what they look like...the pod is round with sections of 4 to 6 seeds and they are wedged shaped like these. please start them in a flower pot, if they are morning glory they will have the first 2 leaves as a double semi heart shape and you will want to provide them with some thing to climb, also plant them AWAY from other plants as they will grab any thing and will choke every thing else out,as well as crawl under siding of a home they will continue to reseed and come up year after year, they also Love to be planted when it it still pretty chilli out,if your ground has thawed but expecting another freeze this is the best time to plant them

How big are they? It is hard to tell without a reference next to it. As big as almonds? small as bean seeds? are even smaller?

  • Tammy Buske Tammy Buske on Mar 05, 2017

like a flat green pea but maybe a tad smaller.

  • User User on Mar 06, 2017

    Definitely they aren't papaya seeds.

  • JUDIE JUDIE on Mar 06, 2017

THEY ARE NOT PAPAYA SEEDS. HAVE PLANTED MANY PAPAYA SEEDS FROM PAPAYA,S. PUT THE SEEDS IN THE GROUND BY THREE'S. THEY NEED A MALE AND A FEMALE TO GROW PAPAYAS. DON'T REALLY HAVE TO BE NEXT TO EACH OTHER BUT YOUR ODDS ARE BETTER PLANTING THREE TOGETHER. I USED TO LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND JUST USED TO PUT THEM ALL IN THE YARD. MOST CAME UP. PAPAYAS TREES WILL LAST TWO YEARS. GOOD LUCK. GET PAPAYA SEEDS FROM A PAPAYA AT THE SUPERMARKET.

  • Tammy Buske Tammy Buske on Mar 06, 2017

Yeah I thought so. thanks so much. They are like little bb's I planted them. lets see what happens

  • Alvin Alvin on Mar 06, 2017

True, they do not look like papaya seeds. I live in Hawaii and have had papaya trees and the seeds are round, spherical in shape. Unless its and unusual type, I don't think it's papaya. ck with your local Dept. of Agriculture.

I think- I just saw these this morning - a friend had them and they were "Iris" seeds...this make no sense to me because -Iris are usually in a bulb or corm form. Anyway- They were called Western Flag Iris - need soaking and nicking to germinate.
