just moved to Arizona where the water is very hard. We are putting in a water softener and the installer cant bypass the back yard sprinkler system. will the soft water harm my palms and cacti? Is using Potassium in place of salt any better?
Thanks
Pat
Pat, I would not risk it. Surely there is a way to bypass, perhaps by using a bypass valve. We did that in my prior home but I will admit that it was a pain to have to go turn the valve (downstairs). It could be that the WS installer does not want the hassle, but I'm sure a plumber could do it. For the record, I would never be without my soft water, love it!
