Kym on Apr 06, 2018According to experts, it is best to delay pruning a loropetalum until spring, after it has bloomed. Since loropetalum sets its buds in summer, autumn pruning reduces the next season’s flowers.https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/loropetalum/pruning-overgrown-loropetalum.htmHelpful Reply
P on Apr 10, 2018you should trim them right after they flower - in New Orleans they do so around Mardi Gras time so now is good! be aware they grwo so fast it is hard to keep them small or medium - they get BIG - might be easier to prune out the lower growth & trim them up to be smallish 'trees'!Helpful Reply
