Don't cut them until the foliage has totally browned down. If you cut them prematurely they have not stored their energy back in the tuber.Helpful Reply -

i also cut them back in the fall, leaving about 2-3 inches above ground so next spring i can find them. esp. if around a house--i don't want mice habituatesHelpful Reply -
