When to cut off dead blooms on hydrangeas

I try to cut them off as they dry out. They make lovely cuttings for wreaths and bouquets. -

In MI which is zone 5, it’s done in the spring. If done in the fall, plants will not bloom in the spring - will just have lots of leaves! -

In MI which is zone 5, we remove them in the spring. If done in the Fall, your new growth will only be lots of leaves! -

I cut them continually throughout the season and in the late fall when they are finished blooming here in SC
