Why do my cucumbers grow into round balls instead of the pickling size

Hello. I had this happen once, but only a few grew into a ball shape. They are still edible. This can result from poor or inconsistent watering. I would make sure they are watered regularly. In the morning is the best time.

Here's a tip to pollinate your cucumbers. If they are in a garden patch. Take the back of your lawn rake and gently tap over the blooming plants. The pollen will fall and you will get a lot more cucumbers. If they are in containers, just gently use your hand to knock the pollen down.
