How do you know when to plant Citrus trees?

With the crazy weather we have experienced this year, when will it be safe to plant tropical trees here in zone 9 (Port Charlotte, Fl) I have several potted tress to include Avocado and mango trees that I have been setting outside during the day and taking in at night!

I would consult with your local Agriculture Agency and a local Grower/Greenhouse of the selected types of citrus fruits.

When in doubt, visit a reputable nursery or contact your local Ag Extension for best localized suggestions. Citrus can be planted at any time of year, and spring is a good time, which for us in zone 9 or higher is just a few weeks away.
