How can I get my pecans trees to produce more pecans?
It has been about 3 years and it produces about a handful of pecans

It usually takes 5 years or more to get pecans from a newly planted tree. I would suggest getting nut tree fertilizer spikes to help them with the added nutrients. My problem is squirrels that eat the nuts before they are ripe, and for that, I put moth balls in knee high stockings hung from the tree branches to make them feel unwelcome.
Depending on the variety, it can easily take between 5 to 10 years to produce. Once they do, they can bear fruit for easily 100 years. They are also alternate bearing - meaning they have bumper crops every other year with lesser crops in between.

your tree is just a baby ... it will mature and fruit every other year .... some years will bushels of nuts, the next year not such a good crop.
You might want to check with your local Agriculture Agent to get a soil test before you add any nutritional supplements ... more harm is done to plants and lawns by 'fertilizing' when not needed, or with the wrong nutrients, than by doing nothing.
