I am 84years old and I am afraid to walk in my back yard because of exposed roots.What do I do to cover them?

Just so you know, some kinds of trees need their roots above ground in order to survive. Please don't let someone cut the out because it can kill the tree. :( Wishing you the best. Linda
you need to haul in some dirt and pack it down plant some grass.
I had an arborist come in and assess the situation. They found that they could grind the roots with a stump grinder. They took care not to cut them so much that the tree would be damaged. I'm very pleased with the results. It was not very expensive and saved me from a fall.
