The easiest way Taz, is to drill numerous holes about 1 inch in diameter in the stump then pour in Epsom salts. This will help rot out the stump and you should be able to remove most of it by end of season.

We rented a stump grinder to get rid of our juniper stumps. 13 of them were turned to mulch in a few hours.
But if you are more patient, I have heard the above mentioned technique of drilling holes and filling with salt will work as well.
