you can buy grass seed that grows in shady areas. You might want to consider some ground cover such as vinca. Your nursery may have several varieties of plants with different shades of green.
Look for shade tolerant grasses. Fescue is one and St Augustine.

Depends what type is grow in your yard if you have st Augustine you will need to add plugs not seed take a grass sample to a garden store to Id it
I would suggest you add more top soil and seed and water and give it light!
