What do you use it for mostly? Can you post a photo of the current space?
HI Tamera,
I start out by looking at ideas on Hometalk and Pinterest and seeing what ideas are similar to my own space. Create a Pinterest board to store all of your ideas. Then start to brainstorm/dream of what you want in there. I have post on how to Start an Interior Design Plan.
Tameraa,. Some new furniture, and lighting fixtures, and a new file cabinet, and some shelves. Aloha!
Lighting is critical, both task and ambient sources. Think about glare.
Place the computer monitor so that you can look up from the computer and focus either out a window or a long distance away- this is to alleviate eye strain.
Arrange the desk, credenza and file cabinets in a cockpit or C shaped area. If you don’t own a file cabinet yet, I’d buy a two drawer lateral file because it’s useful as a work surface.
Buy a plug in strip with a high electrical surge rating.
Buy a multi-adjustable desk chair and sit in it a long time before buying it.
If your desk doesn’t have a keyboard drawer, then either buy one, or put your keyboard on a 26-27” high desk.
If you have guests & guest chairs in your office, consider having them sit at a small round table, away from your paperwork.
Two trash cans are useful- one for future shredding or recycling and the other for regular trash.
Keep your cell phone at least 12” away, when you’re not using it.
You can paint it, add storage, add a desk and chair, and/or cabinet
