Hello Kare, Are you asking about interior decorating trends, or specific rooms? Can you consider posting a photo to help us answer your question?
Hi Kare. I'm Cindy. Painting is the best method to get the most bang for your buck. I believe in investing money on the big items and not much money on the accessories. Keeping your furniture neutral will make it easier to change your decor with pillows, rugs, art work, etc. I don't like a lot of small items in a decor. I think large pieces make more of a statement. Lastly, large floor plants is what I like. Put up lights under the plants. That will throw shadows on to the walls and ceiling. This creates so much drama. Wishing you well.
Concentrate on decluttering, good lighting, including light fixtures and lamps. Overhead lighting is always harsh. If you have over head lighting, install dimmer switches. Add layers of luxurious multi-textured textiles… Think rugs, throws, towels, bed linens etc. Aim for all natural materials like cotton and linen. Synthetic fabrics tend to look cheesy.
For a more glamorous look, think metals, like gold or rose gold. Use mirrors with ornate frames and luxurious fabrics.
