How do I remove a tile backsplash from my kitchen wall?

I replaced my kitchen countertop and now the tile does not match the countertop. Also, the new top did not come with a backsplash and there is a 5" gap between the countertop and the first row of tile. Need help on how to remove tile backsplash without tearing up the wall and if the wall does pull off how do I fix it?

That is a good idea but will not work for my backsplash. There is a 5" gap with nothing there but unfinished sheetrock from the countertop to the first original tile as this did not come with the countertop and I will have to replace all. The tile that is above that space is really old and blue with fruit designs which does not match anything in my kitchen. I am trying to find the easiest way to remove the tile to replace all of it. I covered the blue tile with stick-on tile a few years ago but now have that 5" gap and can't get that tile any longer. So need to remove all of it and replace it with something else.
