small tension rods and curtians in the cabinets. You can get curtian clips that have grippers on the end. I used a hand towel as a curtians for my window over my sink.Paint can cover a multitude of sins. Sand down chipped areas, clean cabinets with tsp rinse let dry, paint. If you don’t sew, there are iron on web type tapes to make hems in fabric.
For the cabinets with no doors you have two solutions: 1) paint the inside a nice vibrant color to make it look like you took off the doors for a reason. 2) you can shop for new/used doors at Habitat for Humanity Restore, they are cheap or you could make your own from birch front plywood.
Drawers.... either sand it smooth, fill whats deep, sand again, prime and paint.
Sand the cabinets and paint them. For the ones with missing doors make door frames and staple chicken wire to them. People pay big dollars for that look.
HI Tina. You could paint the cabinets and the ones with no doors paint the insides too and have them more as a open shelf cabinet. You could also add trim around those ones. For the drawers you could put a piece of wood in them to make a smaller shelve.
We have no doors on our kitchen cupboards, although I must say they house mostly china. But even food can look neat and presentable if stored neatly and maybe in attractive containers.
DIYnetwork.com and HGTV.com and Pinterest.com will have ideas on how to make new doors and drawer fronts for your old kitchen cabinets... from slab front to Shaker style to glass in the doors... find the look you like and make it happen...
Awesome thanks
Are the door frames still there or completely removed? If there, you could staple chicken wire inside...looks cute and country. Or staple pretty fabric in the space. If there are no doors at all, you could put curtains over them, or use attractive pull shades for windows and hang from above. You could apply fabric to the shades to make them cuter. Hobby Lobby has darling drawer pulls. Every other week, half their items go on sale. Wait for the right week and put the cute pulls on the drawers to distract from the chips.
