I want to redo my kitchen countertops myself, what can I do?
I'd like stone tops but its not in the budget. I'd like cement too. What else can I do MYSELF that won't cost a fortune and I dont need power cutting tools?

Concrete overlay is very affordable and easy to do. I thought it was a fun project as well. We needed one box of henry feather finish which cost us about $15 and a sander with lots of sand paper. For a top coat, we used epoxy, which cost closer to $100, but there are other sealers you can use as well.

If you like the look of granite or marble, try a Giani countertop paint kit. No power tools needed, just careful prep and patience.

Some thrifty folks have used Contact paper and (sometimes) clear-polyed over it for durability. Here is one example of the use of a granite pattern Contact paper: https://www.thehandymansdaughter.com/contact-paper-kitchen-counter/
