Can I cover over my tile kitchen countertop and backsplash?

My new home's kitchen counter top and backsplash are tile with grout. can i possibly cover it with something or does it have to all be replaced?

You can cover with stick on tiles in many colours and designs or Batten out and clad........
I have the same tile and grout. When others get new counter tops, I stick to my guns and remember that you just can't hurt good ole' tile! There are a couple of things you can do tho...there is paint to change the grout color...and even paint to cover the tiles. On the backsplash, there are stick on photos, words, and other things to put on the tiles in a random pattern to change it up a little. In my case, I gave them a really good cleaning with a product made for that purpose....and loved them again. Good luck!

You can also (carefully) grind out the grout and redo it. I may do that at our house - stupid grout, it stains so darned easily, even with the supposedly "professional grade" sealer that was put on it. Ugh. I'm thinking about a darker shade now.
