Wall paper for back splash in kitchen?
can I use wall paper to do my kitchen back splash. I want to paint it should I paint first or put-up first. It is self adhesive or should I buy the all paper paste. Thank you

Use scrubbable wallpaper. I would paint first if it hasn't been painted because when you want to change it out, it will come off easier. Self adhesive works about as well as contact paper for adhesion. Prepasted wallpaper, then use glue for prepasted paper is the route I used to go. I had some that stayed up over 25 years until I took it down a few years ago.
if you use wallpaper as a back splash be sure it is the type you can wipe off and scrub because you will get grease and grime on it ~

Get the self adhesive. Easier to put up and no mess. Prime the walls before putting it up. It will stick better and be easier to remove in the future.
You can, but make sure you can wash/scrub it. Check the instructions for the one you buy.
Paint first.
Yes, the scrub-able kind is best, You could also put some heat resistant glass in front of the wall paper.
In our kitchen we have a mural type picture behind the stove to take care of splatters from cooking, dollar store. It has an adhesive back which we did not use, just straight pinned it in place.
