It's hard to tell from the picture, but your sink appears to be enamel coated. You can re-coat an enamel sink and it will look like new. Check with your local home center to see if there are options for a DIY kit, or contact a local professional that specializes in refinishing tubs, etc. They should be able to help you without removing the sink.
I think that is what she wants help with, to see if it can be saved. What have you tried cleaning it with so far?
Sprits it with straight bleach , a couple time's , if that doesn't do it sprinkle cleanser , like Comet then sprits bleach and let sit overnight. Hope it works!
it looks like the finish is gone, how ever make a paste it bar keepers friend and water allow to sit over night
Try Barkeepers Friend, comes in liquid or powder. It is pretty good for stains. The Mr. Clean magic erasers are pretty good also.
CLR works wonders on rust.
Always use a small amount of shout will take all the stain off . Let it all soak for 30 min.
From the picture it looks like the finish has worn off and it's not a stain. Otherwise it is in perfect condition so refinishing it would be a more economical and easier option than trying to replace.
