No. Sorry, but It appears the balance of your input was cut off. But NO!!! No open paint around fire! Not SAFE!! Additionally, if the brass is heated the paint won't set right. I hope that this helps.
Perhaps paint that is made for grills?

i am assuming you meant painting brass around an open fireplace and not fire.
Once you have been able to remove all of the plastic debris you should be able to give the brass a light sanding and paint it with a paint made to withstand heat.
See your local paint store or a knowledgeable person at Home Depot or Lowe’s.
They can give you options on what paint to use.
Use paint intended for high heat - many people paint grills or fireplaces with it.
If it’s all brass you should be able to sand it down to the metel
Oh! I see now. You will need to sand that off before painting. There are special paints for surfaces that may become hot. I've used the special spray paint on my wood burner, so I know they work.
BBQ or fireplace spray paint can be used.
