Can I replace the little gravel stones that came with gas fireplace?

The kit came with little tiny gravel stones. I would like to replace them with bigger more attractive stones. What is the purpose of these stones? just to look good?

There is attractive colored glass for this. But I have only found larger quantity, like the size of gallon of paint. And expensive also. &40 to $50.

I would be careful bc its a flammable situation, might be best to stick with the ones it came with. good luck!
As you may have discovered, replacement "ash" and "embers" come in commercially sized units. Go to your gas supplier or a gas appliance merchant and buy only what you need from their supply. Be sure you know exactly how to install the replacement product correctly.
