This is the stone look I want .... all the way up the wall. I will not put my TV up there.
How do you apply airstone brick on fireplace wall with a mantel?
I am wanting to apply the airstone brick, that looks like stackedstone on my fireplace and up the wall. I have an existing mantel there , and want to know if I should remove it, and how to do so. The airstone will go around fireplace ( gas insert ) and up the wall to the ceiling. The pictures are from the internet that i attached. The look I want , and how my set up is now. I will not be putting a TV above fireplace though.
This is basically what my fireplace and mantel is now. Mine is all white though, but exact mantel surround.

Quick and Easy Stone Fireplace Update
I would remove the existing material if you are going to carry the stone further than where it is placed presently. Otherwise, you will have uneven wall surfaces the thickness of the tile. Even though the new stone is an uneven surface, I doubt you will be happy with it being off that much.
Amazon has stacked stone heavy vinyl wallpaper. 3 effect also. Lot easier and less expensive, if you would be interested. This is what I'll use when I get to mine, it's on the list, lol. Then I can change it I want.
