How could I make a temporary closure to an old formal living room?

We purchased a 1968 home. It still has the once formal living room that you enter from the entry hall and from the kitchen. I would like to be able to temporarily close the entry from the hallway at times, so that I can use this room in different ways. How would you suggest I do this. And it look good on both sides

How about a barn door which would make it look decorative but would be functional too. You can choose a style and color that would best fit your decor.

Can you put a sliding door that would slide to the wall when not in use. It could be painted to look like the rest of the room or made to look like an art pieces.

Depending on the style of your home, you could use a beautiful curtain that you could drape to the side when you wanted it open to your dining room. Good luck.

You can also make these sliding french doors also with clear or frosted glass. Can use old doors from Habitat for Humanity Restore.
