I have a small living room ..How do I make it look roomy?

Downsizing your furniture is a good place to start. Also, paint at least the wall farthest from the entry a medium blue. Blue makes room look more expansive.

Going with a monochromatic color scheme can also make a room seem larger.

Try not to have a lot of furniture on the floor. Hang shelves for books or collections. If your collections ate lighter in eweight, try some glass shelves. A shelf painted a light color, attached closer to the ceiling to hold book will make the eye travel up. Stay away from having all dark colors at eye, or just below eye level. Smaller chairs instead of 1 larger sofa gives the illusion of more space. Make smaller hassocks to go with the chairs

Don't put a lot of furniture in it. Get smaller scaled furniture. Put up a mirror.

Hanging the curtains higher and wider than the windows makes the ceilings feel higher, and the room brighter.

Mirrors are your best friend!

Choose furniture that doesn't have bulky arms. Glass topped coffee table. Strategically placed mirror. Don't place furniture right against the wall. Keep window treatments light and airy.
