a stack of (foldable) crates on a trolley gives a lot of space and can be moved quite easily
if you hang labels on the crates, you know exactly what is in them
Utilize old metal four- door vertical filing cabinets. You can find them at thrift stores very inexpensively, or better yet free on craigslist and other selling websites/apps. They hold a ton of stuff, and best of all they are waterproof and mouse proof. You can label each door as to contents.
Home Depot has a great selection of garage storage units. They attach to the wall and make it super easy to keep things stored and organized. There are lots of options too and they have something for almost everything you'd want to store in a garage!
