Janet Pizaro on Jan 11, 2016I have searched home talk for ideas in which there are so many, however because of your cork board I cannot come up with a solution. So my suggestion is possibly starting over and look at what others have done.Helpful Reply

MN Mom on Jan 11, 2016HimPatricia Of you want to use your cork board, go for it! You don't need to start over and copy anyone. I would add a paper page of a weekly calendar and use a different color marker for each family member. Each Sunday, sit down and go through you week and add events, appointments, test dates etc. you can paint the edge of your cork board to coordinate with your kitchen. Office stores have all sorts of cool push pins too, to hold permission slips, coupons, etc on the board. If you have a desk space available, you can add some stackable basket like "in and out" office baskets to corral paper work. Maybe chalkboard paint some labels to clearly mark what is what...possibilities are really endless!Helpful Reply

Cindi on Jan 13, 2016You could look for a small stand with shelves and put your baskets in there, or trays, or pretty boxes. I have one that is 16" W X 32"H and it has 4 shelf spaces, so I use those decorated boxes with the magnetic lid closures (some are like small suitcases), like what you get at Ross, to put on each shelf. They fit perfectly and I can put a lot of stuff in there and hide the mess, and it's pretty. It also gives you space on top for whatever you want, I have a pretty, carved blue wood box on top for more stuff. I make jewelry and do crafts so am always looking for ways to hide all the "stuff" I collect for projects. Or you could use the top for paper clips, pens, post-its, etc., whatever you need, and hang the cork board above that. That would look good, and be functional.....works for me.Helpful Reply

Dfm on Jan 13, 2016it sounds like your space for your communications center is just sl. larger than mine. the dry erase board just fits. a row of pockets trimmed from a hang- it -in- the -closet shoe bag a few above and a few below can contain many things from paperwork folded or rolled, pens, scratch, papers, mail....Helpful Reply
