How to use unused bathtub for storage

Question

We do not use our bathtub, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to turn it into storage--shelves or something--without too much effort.  Thanks

my uncle used plywood cut to fit the tub, and added hinges so he could just lif up what half he needed.

Go right above the tub surround and put a shelf on the wall. Attach a shower rod below that and hooks to job small baskets or use for extra closet space. The shelf should be re-enforced to hold the weight of boxes. I use the little crates to make more storage.

try cutt 3/4” plywood to fit ober tub And make a fabric covered cushion with throw pillows. You can then lift to use for storage and have a comfortable seat

Some people put them in their yard as flower planters, like you see wheel barrows and other objects. Some use them for horse trophs or other livestock to water them.

Take out the tub if you are not renting and are planning to stay there and make a closet. Otherwise I would buy a piece of 3/4' plywood and cut it to fit the area. Then you can build shelves etc. that sit on the plywood.

if you area able to dig an area deep enough to house it in the garden, you might try to make a pond out of it

Dfm has again, the right idea. I once had two bathrooms and used one to store the things I sold on line. I put boards width wise that could be slid to access the stuff in the tub. You can also put shorter rods width wise on the top to hang things in. These are some more ideas.

i use 3ft. tall plastic storage bins which have 3 drawers. My bath tub will hold 3 of these bins. This method allows for storage on top also.
