I'd vote for the shower.
Yes, the shower, most people these days do not take the time for a bath in a tub, so it is a space waster.
I'd do a shower as well, but go to a mobile home supply and get one of the large shower enclosures. It should fit the space where the tub went and give a nice, big, generous shower that will feel more luxurious than banging your elbows in a standard size.
Shower try to get one as handicapped accesable as possible. Cheaper before you NEED it!
As an owner of rental properties, 4 of them mobile homes, I had this same issue. We did a large shower, purchased from a mobile home supply source. It was seamless, so no leaks or caulk. It made a very large shower and my tenants loved it.
I agree...
We decided to go with the shower.
