Nope they'll just climb over it. im assuming your talking about chipmunks etc so I would recommend ShakeAway rodent deterant -

Sadly, I don't think so. Most things that live outdoors are able to climb such barriers. -

Depending on what kind of pests, probably not. Smaller ones will just go through, and bigger ones will go over. What kinds of pests are you trying to keep out?
