Can a pool filter/pump be used by hanging the hoses over the side?
I know, seems dumb, but my daughter put together a small above ground pool and filled it before attaching the filter. When I was a kid, my mom hung the filter hoses over the side of our pools. Does anyone know if this would work temporarily? Thanks!

Very temporarily because the closed pump/filter system must be maintained. If the pool is filled it must have come with plugs of some sort, right? Bite the bullet and quickly add each outlet/inlet & hoses. Two people could do this easily; keep the hose ends and pump/filter above the level of the inlet opening on the pool's sidewall to avoid gravity causing backfilling and overflowing of the water in the pool.
You can still attach the filter if you are careful and clever. Find a piece of strong plastic (I've used those heavy flexible kitchen cutting mats) and slide it against the inside of the pool at the inlet/outlet hole. Allow the pressure of the water to hold it against the side as you open the outlet and attach the hose(s). You'll probably get seepage but if you do it right and work fast, you should be able to get those hoses on and the pump working. The key is to have everything ready and in place before you open the outlets - practice a time or two before you actually do it - and work fast.
For everything to work properly and the water to filter properly, empty the pool to the necessary level to install things where they are supposed to go. With the heat, the water will warm back up quickly.
You have to empty the pool first and only then you can clean it.
You have to drain the water first
You should use a sump pump drainer
If you want to clean your pool, then you have to clean it first, and for you to clean it, you have to drain all the water. It is essential to have a good sump pump drainer for your pool because if you are not going to have it, then you will struggle a lot. I used to have a bad sump pump drainer, and it disintegrated work at all. Eventually, I was able to find a really cool website https://www.sumppumpadvisor.com/best-sump-pump-for-pool-drainage/ while I was browsing through the internet that had a list of the best sump pumps pools. I decided to choose the best review one, and it was definitely a good choice. Now I have a good sump pump drainer that does its job stupendously.
Cleaning the pool without pool pump not a easy task. I have read all things here about the pool filter pump. But I have read many websites even i checked www.sumppumpadvisor.com/best-sump-pump-for-pool-drainage/ i did not got any information here it is just time wasting thing and after a long time spending on internet i went through https://sumppumpguides.net/best-pool-drainage-sump-pump-reviews/ it has all pro and cons with reviews about the pump should be using for pool. Hope you all will have the best information i have shared here. say thanks me later!
