Hi, If you have a licence and can use one, or use an electric saw or a Hand Saw. Or try to make something with the branches if you can. ............
We purchased a chain saw that was electric, much lighter than the gas ones, cheaper too. We have many really old huge trees and constantly use it. Right now we are helping a neighbor remove a crab apple that is rotting at the base and is close to the house and electric wires. So handy now! We used to use a circular saw, but it was really hard to use on a big branch.
Chain saw won't get rid of the branches, only make them into smaller pieces. When you get into very small branches, less than 2" diameter, their flexibility can be dangerous when the chain saw teeth grab and thrash them about.
